The Building is from 1914, in Neo-Barock style by Architect; Thorvald Gundestrup.
The project is equivalent to placing a big villa on top of an apartment block.
In an existing apartment on the 4th floor, we have opened up to an attic, increasing the living space from 143 to 287 m2. The opening between the 4th and 5th floor consist of a big hall, with a floor-to-ceiling height of 10 meters. The carpentry swung staircase refers to the main staircase in the building. On the 5th floor we have built a Parisian rooftop terrace between two dormer windows.
The 4th floor contains rooms and chambers for the entire family and has a little more closed character than upstairs. On the 5th floor the sky fills the space and there´s lots of room for social life.
The owners of the apartment have decorated the place with a big variety of colors and patterns combined with art, tapestries and textiles, resulting in a deeply personal home.
